Dueling Pianos
On October 6th, the Hutchinson Hockey Association hosted Dueces Wild! Dueling Pianos. Ted and Dave entertained the crowd with requested songs, pulling fans up on stage to sing and dance and even picking on certain members in the audience. Before the entertainment started, Jeremy Carter thanked Buzz Burich and his family for helping the Hutchinson Hockey Association for the following donations through the years:
- Money was given in 1977 to help build the hockey rink.
- $10,000 was donated to put towards the city purchasing the 1982 Zamboni.
- $15,000 was donated to put towards the city purchasing the 1990 Zamboni.
- Money was given in 1999 to help build the hockey rink.
- $50,000 was donated to put towards the city purchasing the 2000 Zamboni (replaced the 1982 Zamboni).
- $100,000 was donated for the naming rights when the rink was built which is named the Burich Arena.
- $40,000 was donated to put towards converting the 2000 Zamboni from gas to electric which is currently in progress.
Hutchinson Family Dentistry
Chamber members, please join us Thursday, October 11th from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hutchinson Family Dentistry as they host Chamber Business After Hours! The new business was just established in 2012, and includes a team of dentists: Dr. David Mach, Dr. Steven Flinn, and Dr. Chuck Neufeld. They have renovated the former Hutchinson Leader building at 36 Washington Avenue into a modern-day dental office, with lots of historic appeal. This building area, built in 1883 as a stable, has served as an auto repair facility, a steam laundry, Sears, and now a state-of-the-art dental office. Come and see the features of the new building, as well as meet the staff, and enjoy some fellowship!
