Hutchinson Area Women of Today, aka HAWT, received recognition by both the state and national Women of Today as a new charter at winter state convention, Hats Off Women of Today! Deb Froemming, a Citizens Bank & Trust employee, accepted both certificates and an engraved gavel at the convention alongside Susie Noyes and Daris Fraser. The convention was held the last weekend in January at the Double Tree Hilton in Minneapolis. HAWT also received recognition for the use of social media and for growth in the organization. The National WT President awarded eight recipients as Strong Women, including Deb Froemming. As first time attendees a booklet was given to each to encourage networking by introducing yourself to each person attending and asking them to sign. The booklet with the most signatures wins. There were ten first time attendees and the winner received free registration at the next convention. Deb gathered the most signatures and won this competition, and plans to redeem in May at the next convention in Bemidji, MN. The weekend was filled with training, celebrations, recognition, business and service projects to name a few of the events held. Women of Today promotes service to the community, personal and professional growth and fellowship. Attendees were encouraged to wear 3 different hats over the weekend, Deb’s hats worn were courtesy of Connie Lambert, CB&T employee. Connie’s mother had a dynamic collection over her lifetime.
