2026 is an important year in the history of Citizens Bank & Trust Co. as it is our 140th anniversary. 140 years of Citizens Bank & Trust Co., 140 years of being on Main Street in Hutchinson and being the only community in which Citizens Bank has branches. Yes, that’s 140 years of CB&T’s presence on Main Street and our strong, unmatched and steadfast support of the only community we have known.
In 1886 CB&T was opened at 12 Main St N. Since 1892 we have been located at the corner of Main St & 1st Ave SW. In 1978 as Hutchinson was growing, CB&T grew alongside it with the construction of a new branch located on Highway 15 South (currently the location of Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel). As Hutchinson continued to grow further, CB&T built its current branch on Highway 15 South in 2001 as part of the Target Corp development.
Citizens Bank’s products and services have evolved over the years as well. We are proud to say that we offer the whole spectrum of banking products and services. From old fashioned “in bank” customer service to mobile banking and everything in-between.
As we look forward, it’s almost certain that Hutchinson will continue to grow and change. Citizens Bank will be growing right there with Hutchinson, however some things won’t change; Citizens Bank’s commitment to Hutchinson through community engagement, involvement, philanthropy and investing locally to improve our hometown.
To honor our 140th anniversary, Citizens Bank management has committed to dedicating 140 hours of community involvement and service hours being performed by our staff in 2026. After all, what would be a better way to give back to Hutchinson than to have our staff volunteering and working to make Hutchinson even better than it is today!
