We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Kurth Family, long-time customers and the 2025 Renville County Farm Family of the Year. Michael and Kacie Kurth gave us a tour of KurthHaven Farms, showing their barns, explaining their dairy process and sharing the farm’s history.
Founded in 1969 by Leroy and Susan Kurth on 100 acres, the farm has grown over the decades. Today, Michael and Kacie run the operation with their family, milking 90 Registered Holsteins, raising young stock and farming 800 acres of crops. The next generation actively contributes to the daily operations, while Leroy continues to lend a hand.
The Kurths are dedicated to their community and the dairy industry, volunteering with 4-H, hosting judging teams and participating in multiple Holstein and Red & White Dairy Cattle Associations. KurthHaven Farms was also recognized as a Century Farm in 2025.
Our visit with the Kurths was a reminder that strong relationships and local roots are the foundation of community banking.
