The Annual Hutchinson Arts and Crafts Festival is one of Hutchinson’s most anticipated annual events. This is the 38th year of the festival, and this year will feature over 170 artisan booths. You can look forward to roomier booths and more display space, as each booth will be 12×12 feet, an increase from 10×10 foot booths of the past.
This year’s featured artist is Ellen Starr, an artist who now calls Hutchinson her home. She is a diverse artist working in many different mediums. As Ellen states on her Etsy site, her “passion is to create works of art that inspire others with a sense of awe and reverence.” Ellen is a cancer survivor and uses her art as a therapeutic tool. Her presence at the Arts and Craft Festival this year will be a wonderful addition.
You can count on a delicious array of food at the Taste of Hutchinson, including many crowd favorites! New this year will be corn on the cob! The entire festival is free to attend and begins on Friday, September, 13th at 10am until 6pm, and again on Saturday, September 14th from 9am until 4pm.
What’s New This Year?
New this year, the Hutchinson Center for the Arts will be open during the same time as the Arts and Crafts Festival. It is free!
Also, the South Fork Film Festival will be showing the Alfred Hitchcock classic, “The Birds” at the Masonic West River Park. The film will start at the conclusion of the High School football game, and will also be free.
The Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce is excited about these additions to the weekend, and hopes you’ll invite friends to enjoy the festivities with you. The weekend is expected to bring up to 12,000 visitors to Hutchinson. Please join us in welcoming everyone to Hutchinson!
