College Social Media Scams
It’s easy for college students to let their guard down and fall victim to schemes draining their bank account or stealing their identity. Sometimes the bad guys can even trick students into becoming accomplices to their fraud with the lure of easy money.
Below are ways cybercriminals use social media to target college students:
- Save or earn money by downloading this app scams
- Card cracking scams make victims an accomplice to fraud
- The car wrap scam, get paid to drive
For more information on these scams, read Shazam’s blog post Class is back in session. Lesson 2: dangers of social media scams.
While social media is a great way to stay in touch with friends, it can also be a way for fraudsters to take advantage of college students. Always be aware of easy money.
