Where is “Spaulding”?
Have you met Spaulding? “Spaulding” is the cute, new, little puppy that lives in Library Square! He is a durable sculpture that can withstand any type of weather conditions. He loves attention, especially if it involves children petting him and riding on his back! Spaulding, made of bronze and limestone, was created by artist Heidi Hoy of St. Bonifacius, MN. Spaulding is part of the 2013 Sculpture Stroll presented by the City of Hutchinson Public Arts Commission.
There are six sculptures currently on display:
Percussion II – West River Park
Spaulding – Library Square
Slow Dancing – NE corner of Main and 1st Ave
The Plunge – North end of pedestrial bridge west of Adams St
Cosmic Story – Riverside Park
Observance- Hassan St SE near City Hall
These original world-class sculptures by regional artists will be on display for one year. The sculptures are owned by the artist and loaned to the exhibit. Stop by our main bank lobby to pick up a brochure prepared by Hutchinson Public Arts Commission.

Shannon Celebrates 15 Years at Citizens Bank
Thank-you to Shannon Kieser for your fifteen years of service to Citizens Bank and Trust, and for sharing your thoughts about your time with us!
“I have enjoyed working 15 years at Citizens Bank & Trust Co.; 14 years has been part time. As a Personal Banking Officer, I enjoy working and meeting with many different people. I receive satisfaction in helping my customers reach their financial goals, and providing services that assist them in whatever pursuit they may follow. I have a degree in Business Management from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, with an emphasis in Banking/Finance. The best part of my job, simply is the interesting conversations I have with the many different people I meet.
Working part time for the Burich family has allowed me to enjoy raising my three children, while at the same time utilizing my education and experience in banking. I appreciate the Burich’s dedication to family and our community. My husband Tom and I have lived in Hutchinson for 20 years and love raising our family here. I cannot imagine moving back to the Minneapolis area, we enjoy the community and all it offers.
In my “spare” time I attend my children’s football, basketball, baseball games and gymnastic meets. As a family, we enjoy spending time at my parent’s lake cabin by St. Cloud. We also enjoy traveling to all parts of the U.S. and Caribbean cruising with our extended family. Health and fitness are a passion of mine. Unfortunately, so is baking.”
RiverSong…sit back and enjoy!

Joyce Laing Celebrates 35 Years with Citizens Bank and Trust
Please help us congratulate Joyce Laing, as she is celebrating 35 years with Citizens Bank. Joyce has worked in the installment loan department and the IRA department during her tenure here.
She has accumulated many memories throughout the years. Some of her memories include technological advances starting with a courier system and manually typing loan documents. Next came the first computer, followed by computer-generated documents. Joyce has been with us through several remodeling projects and two generations of bank customers; Joyce loves meeting the children of the customers she has worked with in the past.
Joyce and her husband enjoy cheering on their two teenage grandchildren at their many sporting events. They enjoy watching hockey, soccer, baseball, and tennis as often as possible.
It’s with sincere appreciation that we want to thank Joyce for her 35 years with Citizens Bank and Trust.
Thank you Vern!
One of the things we are so very thankful for is our committed, long-term, loyal employees. In June, one of them decided it was time to give it a rest. Vern Hagen has been with Citizens Bank for 32 years serving in full and part-time custodial and maintenance roles. We are honored to formally send Vern Hagen off to enjoy his retirement years. Here are a few pictures from the celebration we held this week to honor him. Thank you VERN!
