Foundation Activities
The Bank and its related foundations recently approved the following grants and donations:
- HHS Mountain Bike Race Team: Start up costs
- New Discoveries Montessori Academy: EZ Write program for students
- Crow River Drumline: 10 scholarships
- Hutchinson Health Care Foundation: Harmony River annual pledge
Jaycee of the Year
Congratulations to Jessi Wendland for being awarded the 2012 Hutchinson Jaycee of the Year! Steve Kropp, Jaycees President, presented the awards on Friday night at the annual Hutchinson Jaycees/ WaterCarnival Christmas party. Jessi has been actively involved as a member of the Jaycees for 3 years, serving on the Welcoming Committee, Executive Committee, Water Carnival Queen Mom and Finance Committee, and the past 2 years as the Jaycees Treasurer. Garrett Backes, from Southwest Initiative Foundation, was awarded Rookie of the Year.
Buzz celebrates 30 years at Citizens Bank!
Congratulations to Buzz for 30 years at Citizens Bank!
In 1982, Buzz joined Citizens Bank as Executive Vice President, Chief of Operating Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors. In 1985 he was elected President and Chief of Administrative Officer. He became the fourth president of Citizens Bank, following his father Irivin J. Burich.
Buzz has been active in the Hutchinson Community. He currently serves on the I.J. Burich Foundation boards and the Public Art Commission. He is a life time member of Pheasants Forever, Gopher Campfire, McLeod County Historical Society and Twin Point Gun Club.
Buzz graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1961 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas in 1965. He has two children, Todd and Heather, and five grandchildren.

Congratulations to Margie Kirchhoff for 30 years at Citizens!
Congratulations Margie for 30 years of service at Citizens Bank!
Margie grew up on a farm near Sleepy Eye and moved to Hutchinson in 1980. She graduated from Hutchinson Area Vocational Technical Institute with a degree in Accounting. In August of 1982, she started at Citizens Bank in the Bookkeeping Department. Margie later moved to the Data Processing Department where she holds her current position as a Network Assistant.
Margie is married to Randy, a machinist at 3M and also has a farming operation, and they have two children. Cassie graduated from St Cloud State University and is employed with 3M in New Ulm and Kristine, who is a junior at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
