The Directors, management and staff of Citizens Bank & Trust Co. are concerned about and respect the privacy of our customer's personal financial information. We understand that our customers furnish sensitive information to us in the course of our daily business and we are committed to treating such information responsibly. We know that our customers expect privacy and security for their personal and financial affairs.

The Bank will take all the necessary steps to safeguard sensitive information that has been entrusted to us by our customers. The following privacy policy and disclosure outlines our Bank's practice regarding personally identifiable financial information for consumers and those consumers who become our customers.

Types of Information We Collect

We collect nonpublic personal information from many sources. Nonpublic personal information does not include that which is available from government records, widely distributed media, or government-mandated disclosures.

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others; and
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency

Types of Information We Disclose

We do not share any nonpublic personal information with any unaffiliated third parties except as described in this disclosure.

Information We Disclose as Allowed by Law

We are permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal information about you to other third parties without allowing consumers the right to opt out of the sharing agreement in the following circumstances:
1) To affiliated third parties such as insurance agencies and securities broker-dealers
2) To companies who perform transaction processing for our Bank in the following circumstances:

  • If the transaction, service, or product is requested or authorized by you
  • To maintain or service your account as part of a private label credit card or other loan extension program
  • In connection with a securitization, secondary market sale, (including servicing rights), or similar transaction related to a consumer
  • Disclosures that are necessary to enforce out Bank's legal or contractual rights or any other person's rights who is engaged in the financial transaction
3) Disclosures required in the ordinary course of banking business, such as settlement of claims or benefits, providing confirmation of information to the consumer or his agent, and to bill, process or clear items in the normal course of business
4) To provide information to insurance rate advisory organizations, guaranty funds, or agencies that are rating the Bank, persons that are assessing the Bank's compliance with industry standards, and the Bank's attorneys, accountants and auditors
5) To the extent permissible under the Right to Financial Privacy Act
6) To a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act
7) To comply with Federal, State or local laws, rules and other applicable legal requirements

Sharing Information with Companies That Work for Us

We may share customer information we receive from you as described above with companies that work for us to provide new and existing products and services. These companies act on our behalf and are contractually obligated to keep the information we give them about you confidential and to use the information only for the purpose intended.

Disclosure of Information After You Close Your Account

If you decide to close your account (s) or become an inactive customer, we will adhere to the privacy practices as described in this notice.

Safeguarding Customer Information

At Citizens Bank and Trust Co. we also take steps to safeguard customer information. All of our employees have a copy of this policy and are trained at least annually regarding the importance of safeguarding customer information. Disciplinary action will betaken against any employee who violates our privacy policy and procedures.

The Bank takes steps necessary to indentify internal and external threats that could result in unauthorized disclosure, misuse, alteration or desctruction of consumer information or customer records.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

It is the policy of Citizens Bank and Trust Co. not to collect personal information online from anyone under 18 years of age. Our online banking disclosure states that any online user under the age of 18 must contact the Bank before enrolling.

Privacy Policy Notification

Citizens Bank & Trust Co. will provide notice of our privacy policy annually, as long as you maintain on ongoing relationship with us. If we change our policy or practice, for example, disclosing to a third party, we will notify existing customers and give them an appropriate time period to opt out of the disclosure.
