The Best and Worst of Facebook for Business

Jessi Wendland, Nancy Witte and Mandy Baldry attended April’s Social Media Breakfast. Beth Gasser, from Vivid Image, was the presenter and spoke about the best and worst of Facebook for business. She started out with her top ten Facebook marketing mistakes. Some mistakes included not using Facebook personally, using a personal profile as a business page and not having a Facebook icon or link on your website for your customers to find your page. The last half of the presentation focused on Facebook features that every fan page administrator should know. She showed us how you can click on the “reply” button directly following a comment, co-host events and how to let Facebook recommend your page.

This month’s presentation was very informative for CB&T’s Facebook administrators. Have you “liked” CB&T’s Facebook page? Go to our home page and click on the “Connect With Us on Facebook” and it will bring you to our FB page.

How to Use Your Network for Referrals

Today’s Social Media Breakfast was about how to use your network for referrals. Scott Plum from the MN Sales Institute was the presenter. Some of the topics were when to ask for a referral, how to ask for a referral and to create an incoming referral policy. One quick tip is when you receive a referral on LinkedIn, take the time to say thank you. There were monkeys on every table with a note saying “You Can’t Expect to Benefit from LinkedIn, If You Don’t Spend Time Monkeying Around”.  So take some time to update your profile, connect with new people, and refer someone you are connected with if you have appreciated their service.

The topic for March’s Social Media Breakfast will be about Twitter. If you are interested in attending, click on the link for more information.  http://smbcmn.com/

Time to get healthy!

It’s been a busy day at CB! Candace and Betsy from the Hutchinson Health Clinic are at the Bank doing onsite health screenings for our employees. The screening includes height/weight/BMI, blood pressure, pulse, blood glucose and cholesterol testing, as well as a health risk assessment which measures current health behaviors.  After the screening, Betsy (RN) reviews the results and further assists the participants to develop health goals. The primary interest for Hutchinson Health Clinic to provide these services is to encourage people to know their current health score and develop health-related goals and to assess the overall wellness of our community. We’re hoping when they come back in a year that the Bank is a healthier place!

If you are interested in onsite health screenings for your workplace, feel free to contact Candace by email at choversten@hutchhealth.com and check out their website for more information www.heartofhutch.com.
