CB in the Classroom

Recently, Citizens Bank employees have taken their talents to Hutchinson’s Park Elementary school to help with Junior Achievement.  JA empowers students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world.  JA reaches grade levels K-12 each year.  Mandy Fabel taught in Mrs. Auer’s 3rd grade classroom, while Jessi Wendland volunteered in Mrs. Withers’ classroom.  The 3rd grade curriculum teaches students about cities, zones, construction, newspapers, and banking.  Students practiced ordering off a restaurant menu, writing checks, and measuring from a blueprint.  They eagerly wrote stories for a section of a classroom newspaper and enjoyed having a visitor in their room.
